Info

For Rock the Bells, I created all visual content for DJ Eddie Fs Uptown and Untouchables Records showcase, a forty-minute segment featuring Donell Jones, Monifah, Mr. Cheeks, CL Smooth, Jeff Redd, and others. With only two weeks to design and deliver the entire set, I built a cohesive visual system that could support a fast, multi-artist medley while still celebrating the legacy of both labels.

The segment opened with a custom Presented by DJ Eddie F piece that introduced his role and set the tone for the set. From there, I developed a full DJ medley with visuals synced to music, tailoring each section to reflect the artist, the era, and the production style referenced in the mix. Because this was the first live show produced by Uptown and Untouchables Records and the turnaround was so tight, I created a unified visual approach inspired by their classic record cover artwork. Each performance moment used this shared language, paired with updated artist titles and DJ Eddie F branding across booth and overhead screens.

Midway through the show, the creative tone shifted into three centerpiece moments: a memorial honoring key Uptown and Untouchables figures, a Heavy D and Monifah video remix, and a tribute to an extended community of seventeen artists, executives, and collaborators connected to the two labels, including one individual who had originally been scheduled to perform. After these anchor pieces, the show returned to the record-label visual system before closing with a large-scale purple diamond finale.

On my way to the festival, I was asked to direct this entire segment in real time, something I had not done before and was not originally hired to do. I stepped into the role immediately, coordinating cues and transitions live and ensuring the visual narrative held together across the full forty-minute performance.
